Few important points highlighted —
1. Social integration — Return to routine social activities. The patients want that at some stage, they should be allowed by their care givers and doctors to take their own responsibility and go to their profession and activities.
2. Adaptive rehabilitation — it may not be possible for some patients to return to their previous physical and professional activities. In such scenario, a discussion can be done with counselors, treating doctors and occupational therapists and possiblities can be put forth to allow for return to profession and earning.
3. Narrative medicine — “Tell your story” — participants were motivated to share their own struggles and issues. This could help other patients but would also help relieve their own emotional burden significantly.
